Sanctuary – A Quiet Shift

There’s a quiet shift happening in my art lately.
It’s not loud, not dramatic. But it’s real.

With Sanctuary which I just finished, I felt like I was finally listening — not just to what others want to see, or what I thought would “fit” in a gallery — but to what brings peace to my own soul.
The tones, the gentle textures, the soft edges… they spoke to me as I worked. And they reminded me that I don’t need to create for applause. I can create for peace.

Sometimes we think good art has to provoke, to impress, to shout. But what if it could simply hold?
Hold space.
Hold presence.
Hold the heart of someone who just needs a moment of stillness.

That’s where I want to go with my work — into that kind of sanctuary.

Sanctuary – 静かな変化

最近、自分のアートに静かな変化が起きています。
派手でも劇的でもないけれど、確かな変化です。

「Sanctuary」を制作しているとき、自分の心の奥の声にようやく耳を傾けていたように思います。
人が見たいと思うものや、ギャラリーに合いそうな作品ではなく、自分自身が安らぎを感じるものを大切にしたいと思うようになりました。

落ち着いた色合い、やさしい質感、丸みのある輪郭…。
作りながら、それらが自分に語りかけてくるのを感じました。
拍手を求めるためではなく、平安のために創ることができるんだと、気づかされたのです。

アートは何かを訴えたり、感動させたり、強く響かせるものでなければならないと思いがちですが、
ただ、**“包む”**というあり方もあるのではないでしょうか。

空間を包む。
存在を包む。
一瞬の静けさを必要とする誰かの心を、そっと包む。

これからも、そんな「Sanctuary（聖域）」のようなアートを目指していきたいと思います。
