Layers of Sound and Stucco

I recently finished writing a new song, and something struck me in the process — it didn’t feel so different from making my stucco art.
One uses texture and color, the other uses harmony and rhythm… but both are built in layers, slowly, honestly. Stucco mixed with natural pigments. Notes stacked gently on top of one another. Each medium revealing something I didn’t see at first.

I used to think these were two separate parts of me: music and visual art. But now I’m starting to see they’re part of the same conversation. Both are ways I process life. Both invite peace. Both hold space for imperfections and surprises.

Maybe that’s what creativity really is — not trying to impress, but letting things unfold, one thoughtful layer at a time.

サウンドと漆喰の重なり

最近、新しい曲を完成させたのですが、その制作過程でふと気づいたことがありました。
それは、漆喰アートを作る時と、とてもよく似ているということです。

一方は質感と色、もう一方は音とリズム。でも、どちらも「層」を重ねながら、ゆっくりと、正直に作り上げていくもの。天然顔料を混ぜた漆喰。ひとつひとつ丁寧に積み重ねた音。最初は見えなかったものが、だんだんと形になっていく感覚。

音楽とアートは別々の自分だと思っていたけれど、今は少しずつ、それが同じ「会話」の一部だったと分かってきました。どちらも、私が心の中を整理する方法であり、平安を届けたいという願いの表れ。完璧じゃなくていい、ということも受け止めてくれる表現です。

もしかしたら、創作とは本来そういうものなのかもしれませんね。何かを証明しようとするのではなく、静かに、丁寧に、重ねていくもの。
