Enjoying the Process
Lately I’ve been reminding myself not to rush.
Not just in how I move, but in how I create.
There’s a strange pressure that comes when I start thinking too much about the result—
Will this sell? Will people notice? Am I falling behind?
And when I get caught up in that loop, I stop hearing the quiet joy that first made me want to create in the first place.
But when I return to the process itself—the mixing of pigments, the movement of the trowel, the slow emergence of something that wasn’t there before—
there’s a different kind of beauty.
One that doesn’t need to be explained or compared.
Just… received.
And often, ironically, that’s when the results I longed for come naturally.
Not because I chased them,
but because I stayed present in the making.
Performance vs. Favor
There’s something quietly freeing about realizing that peace doesn’t come from performance.
For a long time, I thought worth had to be proven — through how much I did, how well I did it, and how others responded. But lately, I’ve been learning that real favor — the kind that steadies you — can’t be earned through effort. It meets you when you stop trying to prove yourself.
A friend once told me, “When I finally stopped running, I discovered life had been trying to catch up with me.” That line stayed with me.
Maybe what we call “favor” is really a deep alignment — the kind that happens when we stop striving and start trusting that what’s meant for us won’t pass us by.
These days, I’m learning to create from that place. I want my art to flow out of peace, not pressure. Out of rest, not fear. Because I’ve seen it again and again — when the heart is still, the work breathes.
🌿 The Artist Who Forgot to Rest
A while ago, I read about an artist who poured everything into her work — her energy, her emotions, her time — until one day, she couldn’t paint anymore. Not because she didn’t love it, but because she had forgotten how to rest.
That story stayed with me. I think many artists, especially those who care deeply about what they’re creating, end up walking a fine line between passion and exhaustion. It’s easy to forget that even inspiration needs a place to land — and it doesn’t often visit a heart that’s constantly overworked or anxious.
Rest isn't just a break from creating — it's part of the creative process. Just like pigments settle into stucco, ideas settle better when the soul is still.
I was also reminded of a friend who once worked long hours and barely had time for his family. One day, he chose to cut back his hours — and surprisingly, ended up earning more than before. It was a beautiful reminder that when we stop grasping and start trusting, unexpected blessings have room to grow.
So if you’re someone who needs this reminder too:
You’re not lazy for needing rest.
You’re not failing because you’re moving slowly.
And your worth was never tied to your productivity.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop and breathe.

Sanctuary – A Quiet Shift
There’s a quiet shift happening in my art lately.
It’s not loud, not dramatic. But it’s real.
With Sanctuary which I just finished, I felt like I was finally listening — not just to what others want to see, or what I thought would “fit” in a gallery — but to what brings peace to my own soul.
The tones, the gentle textures, the soft edges… they spoke to me as I worked. And they reminded me that I don’t need to create for applause. I can create for peace.
Sometimes we think good art has to provoke, to impress, to shout. But what if it could simply hold?
Hold space.
Hold presence.
Hold the heart of someone who just needs a moment of stillness.
That’s where I want to go with my work — into that kind of sanctuary.
Sanctuary –
Layers of Sound and Stucco
I recently finished writing a new song, and something struck me in the process — it didn’t feel so different from making my stucco art.
One uses texture and color, the other uses harmony and rhythm… but both are built in layers, slowly, honestly. Stucco mixed with natural pigments. Notes stacked gently on top of one another. Each medium revealing something I didn’t see at first.
I used to think these were two separate parts of me: music and visual art. But now I’m starting to see they’re part of the same conversation. Both are ways I process life. Both invite peace. Both hold space for imperfections and surprises.
Maybe that’s what creativity really is — not trying to impress, but letting things unfold, one thoughtful layer at a time.
